Hi Everyone,
I encourage you all to read the latest update from Manhattan College Faculty Go Fund Me organizer, Adam Arenson, which I am pasting below. Highlights include 1) the administration completely changed its guidelines for terminating professors, doing away with the "last in, first out" system and eliminating a varied range of 23 tenured professors 2) admin has decided to cut 20 majors and minors without faculty consultation. Please donate to the faculty's Go Fund Me campaign today. Our professors are in urgent need of our help.

"The MC Administration has spent two Fridays in January making more unilateral decisions: on January 12 they gave 23 more faculty a notice of termination, which means they have eliminated more than a quarter of the total full-time faculty this year. Their new criteria meant a number of the most senior members of the faculty will be dismissed after this semester--in violation of their Handbook rights.
AND -- untenured faculty were given more time, further showing how the Administration believes tenured faculty have fewer rights!
On January 19 they also announced the elimination of 20 majors and minors, including Religious Studies, Ethics, Critical Race and Ethnicity Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Urban Studies, and all languages except Spanish and English, without consultation with anyone, not the curriculum committees, not the faculty chairs.
Legal action will be needed to help faculty be heard, and to help save Manhattan College from these administrative decisions."
