First things first. We now have a Facebook page. Please "like" and share it with others.

I've been spotting misinformation floating around about our group. I'm calling out the most inaccurate statements and setting the record straight. Just because someone *sounds* authoritative, doesn't necessarily make it so. Feel free to quote me on the following . . .
MYTH #1: It's an absolute myth that Chief Koval asked us to start this group. A reporter actually asked me this and someone else insinuated it.
FACT: Neither Chief Koval, nor any member of the Madison Police Department (police or civilian) has ever asked us to start this group. Although we speak out for Chief Koval and the Madison PD, nobody from the force has ever asked us to speak on their behalf. We speak freely, based on our own analysis of the facts.
MYTH #2: It's an absolute myth that we started the group to help Steve's campaign for alder.
FACT: We started this grassroots group way before Steve was even considering a run. And three months later, we're still here supporting Madison PD. For no other reason than it's the right thing to do.
MYTH #3: It's an absolute myth that We Support Madison Police group is a conservative "front group."
FACT: The members who started this group are of all political persuasions. There's David Blaska, who is indeed a staunch conservative (and someone whom I highly respect.) We've also had moderate conservatives and two liberals in the group. Steve and I have been moderate Democrats in the past, but can't support the party in its current state, so now consider ourselves strong Independents.
One thing we all have in common is a deep respect for Chief Koval and the Madison PD.
MYTH #4: It's an absolute myth that the Support MPD group was started as a way to ridicule Black Lives Matter.
FACT: No offense, but get over yourself. We started the group because we saw Chief Koval (one of the finest human beings I've ever had the privilege of knowing) and his stellar force being thrown under the bus.
MYTH #5: It's an absolute myth that we're doing it to make money.
FACT: Heck, we've *lost* money on the deal! We were at about a $700 deficit after Steve's campaign, which he ran because he wanted to support Chief Koval and MPD.
We ask for donations to cover the cost of yard signs, tee shirts, and swag, which has come out of the pockets of our members.
So there you have it. If you had any doubts about who we are, hopefully this has cleared some of that up. There are no ulterior motives behind our group. We stand behind local law enforcement because it's the right thing to do. Period. If you still have questions or comments, please feel free to write me at paula@pjpublications.com
