I received the loveliest email from a subscriber a couple days ago, thanking us for our Support the Madison PD efforts. We're not in this for the praise, but I have to tell you, reading that email made me feel quite nice. And it's compelled me to share some of that goodwill with you. So here goes . . . I want you to know how much I appreciate you if you've ever taken the time and effort to: - express your concerns to an elected official - pen a letter to the editor - attend a common council meeting (ditto if you've stood in front of the council and spoke.) - put up a We Support MPD support sign - donate money so we could buy more signs - attend our appreciation open houses (and donate cash or food) - send an appreciation card to Madison PD or demonstrate some other form of kindness. It's these types of acts that place you ahead of the pack. You've done what a relatively small percentage of people do - you took real action.
