Thought the attacks on Chief Koval were over after he was reimbursed his $22 Gs in legal fees? Nope. While Chief Koval & his officers are single-handedly working to keep Madison safe from an uptick in violent crime, various cabals, which include the Madison common council, are actively seeking ways to bring them down. The latest hit? Alders Shiva Bidar-Sielaff and Marsha Rummel are sponsoring a resolution that would give the majority of the council veto power over Police & Fire Commission (PFC) decisions. Yes, you read that correctly. As if this council doesn't have enough control as it is. It doesn't take a NASA scientist to figure out their motivation. In fact, the following is from an insider: "This proposed ordinance is directed solely at Chief Koval." Here's what I'm asking from you . . . 1. Write to all alders at allalders@cityofmadison.com and tell them you don't want this resolution. While you're at it, tell them to leave Chief Koval & MPD alone. Demand that they focus on combating crime - which means holding criminals accountable - instead of putting up minefields for law enforcement to navigate through. 2. Purchase a yard sign (we ask $5.00 or more to help defray out-of-pocket expenses). If you've purchased a yellow yard sign in the past and they've been stolen or vandalized, we'll replace 'em for free! Matter of fact, for everyone *one* they steal or vandalize, we'll give you *two*. Just present the wires if you still have them. I call it harassment! We have serious issues in this city, and this is what our alders spend their time on? We can become outraged or we can take action.
