Support Laurentia's Peaceful Secession for Fair Representation and Economic Justice

The Issue

In recent years, the worsening political, social, and economic inequalities in the United States have led us, the people of Laurentia, to feel that it is against our region's interests to remain in the Union of the United States under such conditions. We demand our peaceful secession from the Union as well as the following for an Independent Laurentia:

1. Neutrality and Non-interventionism: We stand firm in our belief that warfare and violence are morally wrong and represent a significant misallocation of taxpayer dollars.

2. Accountable governance: The Laurentia Independence Movement champions increased transparency from elected officials and seeks to eliminate outside influence in local elections. Our aim is to create a government that genuinely reflects the interests of Laurentians, directing tax revenue toward essential areas like education, city infrastructure, the modernization of Laurentia's power grid, and the protection of our parks and natural resources.

3. Better Government: Acknowledging the political diversity of our region, which is home to over 95.8 million people, the LIM advocates for a campaign that transcends "Only Liberal" or "Only Conservative" perspectives. Our focus is on fostering Laurentia’s independence, celebrating its unique culture, and ensuring the welfare of all its citizens.

4. Economic Fairness: Laurentia contributes more money to the federal government of the United States than it receives in return. The current taxation system is unfair to us, as it redirects our funds to other states. The money sent by Laurentia to the US government ultimately supports ongoing foreign wars and social programs in other states that are unwilling to fund their own initiatives. If Laurentia were independent, tax revenues should be allocated solely to our region and not distributed elsewhere.

We, the people of Laurentia, urge our governors to pursue secession from the United States. This action would allow us to better maintain our way of life, environment, and prosperity for all Laurentians.

We welcome not only Laurentians but also people from outside Laurentia.
