Respected Prime Minister and Government of India,

​Ladakh’s ecosystem and its unique tribal culture are currently standing at a very critical crossroads. Renowned innovator and educationist Sonam Wangchuk, along with the people of Ladakh, has been peacefully protesting for a long time. This struggle is not just for Ladakh, but to save the environment of our entire nation.

​Through this petition, we urgently place two main demands before the government:

​Implementation of the 6th Schedule: Nearly 97% of Ladakh's population is tribal. To protect their land, water, and forests, they must be granted autonomous rights under the 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
​Protection of the Environment: Ladakh’s glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. If unregulated heavy industrialization and mining are permitted in this ecologically sensitive zone, the primary water source for the entire North India could be permanently threatened.
​The people of Ladakh stand firmly at the borders to protect our nation. Today, they need our support. This petition is not against any political party; rather, it is a collective voice of the citizens to protect a deeply beautiful and vital part of our country.
