The Issue

Since the winter of 2023 soccer season, when I was asked by Machell Phelps of the cortland county youth soccer association (CCYSA) to step in as head coach for my son's soccer team due to the original coach not being available, I have dedicated myself to creating an atmosphere that builds character through team building experiences and sportsmanship that ensures all children feel involved and a part of the team.

After coaching my first soccer game, many parents who did not know me personally approached me, informing me how impressed they were with my coaching and enthusiastic efforts because their children looked like they were having a lot of fun while playing.   Near the end of the season, I was informed that a parent had called me a "SUPERDAD" which was incredibly rewarding and affirmed that my efforts were valued.   This would lead me to asking Lincoln if he would like me to coach him during the little league season.   Lincoln jumped at the notion that I would be coaching him again.   This again affirmed that my love for coaching would now entail coaching my son and other children moving forward.   It also gave me the opportunity to be closer to Lincoln who has certainly had his moments over the years and coaching him would allow me to intervene in situations that needed my attention not just as his coach but as his father.

I have coached 4 of Lincoln's teams over the past 2 years where I have built rapport with the children I have been coaching and with their parents going on to become friends with many of the parents who I had just met during the season, including Lincoln becoming friends with many of his teammates that has led to many playdates.  I have also built rapport with many of the coaches who have praised me for my coaching and ability to keep the kids on task during the games.

For those who know me personally, you know my story.  For those of you who know me as your child's coach, I am sure you know some part of my story as I am very open and honest with what Lincoln and I have been through over the years and throughout Lincoln's lifetime.   Many of you know that it took me 3 1/2 years prove misconduct on the part of family court judge David Alexander where he admitted to his unethical and discriminatory behaviors 2 years after denying judicial bias and judicial prejudice after cancelling my first trial while going on to cancel my second trial to suppress my supporting evidence.  You also know that the county and many others involved have covered up what has been taking place to my son and to me.

You also know that I am a person of high integrity and character.

You have seen my unwavering dedication to helping Lincoln to be the best human being he can be given the circumstances he faces that are less than ideal.  I have dedicated myself to ensuring that he has the tools necessary to thrive including helping other children have similar tools that they need to thrive.  I have been an advocate for my son's health, safety and well-being since he was born.  I advocate daily for Lincoln including advocating for other children especially when it comes to bullying and I will not tolerate bullying of any kind by children or adults and have always intervened as I was bullied as a child and I know what it feels like.   You have witnessed my love and devotion to Lincoln as well as the compassion and empathy I have for my son and other children.

If you know Coach Wolff, you know that he is a dedicated individual whose unwavering commitment to coaching children can be seen through his reliability, dedication and moral integrity.  He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that all players feel included, fostering a positive and respectful environment.  His interactions with the children are built on mutual respect and encouragement, helping them develop crucial skills that extend beyond the sports field.

Many parents have witnessed the positive impact Coach Wolff has had on their children, not just by improving their sport skills but by building character and teamwork.   The players he coaches feel safe with him and their parents can see the impact that Coach Wolff has on their children's outlook on playing and towards teammates and opponents.  His commitment to ensuring each child is fully engulfed and enjoys every practice and game can be seen before and after both practices and games when his players come up asking for hugs and high fives.

In a time when positive role models are essential in our community, it is crucial that we show our support to coaches who make a real difference in our children's lives.  Coach Wolff's ability to create an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere is something that the children and the community of Cortland, NY, greatly benefit from.

Supporting Jeffrey Wolff as the permanent coach for our local soccer team and others teams will ensure that his unique coaching style, which prioritizes the well-being and development of every child, continues to enrich our community.
