Every Irish performer and crew member deserves the "right to an appropriate and proportional renumeration" (Article 18 of the EU Copyright Directive).

Irish Actor's Equity are currently in talks with several government ministers in an effort to secure a guarantee "that Irish performers will not be subject to lesser terms and conditions regarding their intellectual property rights than International performers in similar roles" This, unfortunately, has been the case for many years.

The Irish Diaspora, and members of the creative, television and film industry in the United States and worldwide, strongly support the efforts of Irish Actors Equity. We fully support those recommendations that will protect the rights of Irish performers, writers, directors and all who invest their talent, passion and professionalism into Irish productions. 

This is a crucial time in the entertainment industry all over the world. We must not forget about our colleagues in our native land.
