The Issue

Please sign our petition to change take off routes from Leeds Bradford Airport so they stop flying over Burley and Menston.

This is not an anti-airport petition.

Noise pollution is only going to get worse: Plans are to almost double passenger numbers from 4 million to over 7 million by 2030.

LBA is now reviewing its take off routes so planes should over fly fewer local residents on the ground.

Designed last century, the current take off routes have the following issues:

  • Planes take off so they fly over the communities of Burley and Menston.
  • Planes often veer off course because the of the tight cornering so early in the take off.
  • Less Green - Not as fuel efficient as the proposed option.
  • Planes overfly Ilkley and Burley Moor.

The New Take Off Route Option

New Take Off Route (32SEF)

  • It overflies far fewer people on the ground.
  • The new route is Greener as it’s more fuel efficient.
  • It’s straight on for 8km so planes won’t deviate as much and overfly more residents
  • Planes will climb quicker so noise pollution on the ground will be lower.

We want the Airport to choose the best take off routes for the future, not just to stick with 30+year old plans take off routes because it means less cost.

Sign the petition today...and make the Airport listen. If your home has other residents aged 18 or over, they too can sign.

Please use the 'Share' button to send this petition to other residents who you think would be interested in signing.

Remember the more signatories we get, the more the Airport has to take notice.
