200+ Horses have left the Alameda County Fairgrounds as of 1/11/17!

Most of these horses have left the area and are NOT coming back for the 2017 Alameda County Fair Horse Races. Most have moved out of State, some people have retired and the remaining are in So Cal and are not coming back. The Fair has racing dates but will not have the horses to fill the races. Horse Racing at the Alameda County Fairgrounds appears to be at a compromised position this year purely from power of numbers. Mr. Jerome Hoban would not negotiate with the Trainers to pay stall rent to keep the Year Round training. Look at the attendance at the Pomona Fair after losing horse racing, it was dramatically off!
