The Issue
SUPPORT GOLDIE’S MARATHON / J&B FOOD MART PROPOSAL
A community voice for a local business
We support the proposed improvements to Goldie’s Marathon/J&B Food Mart in Versailles and ask the Versailles City Council to approve the associated zoning map amendment and General Development Plan as recommended by the Planning Commission, including its eleven conditions.
WHAT WE ARE SUPPORTING
SUS #1, Inc. and MMR Investments, Inc. have requested a change from B-2, Central Business District, to B-4, Highway Business District, for the Marathon location and associated properties on Lexington and South Locust streets.
On October 8, 2026, the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission recommended approval with nine AYE votes, incorporating eleven conditions discussed and amended during the public hearing.
The City of Versailles stamped the Commission’s transmittal received October 13, 2026.
Our support is for this specific proposal and its conditions.
WHAT WE ASK
We respectfully ask the Mayor and Versailles City Council to:
• Approve the proposal as recommended, including its eleven conditions, through the required public process.
• Acknowledge this petition as an expression of community support.
• Preserve the petition and accompanying signature report with the public records associated with this matter, consistent with applicable procedures.
WHO MAY SIGN
Versailles and Woodford County residents, former residents, customers, visitors and supporters near and far are welcome.

By signing, I express my support for the Marathon/J&B Food Mart proposal described above and understand that my name and general location will be included in a signature report submitted to the City of Versailles.
