Members of our Community,
The support that you have has shown the library workers of the Gloucester County Library System has been truly humbling. We all know there are no shortage of issues to be concerned with today, so the fact that you took the time to not only read our petition but signed your name pledging support to our cause, is more encouraging to us all than you may ever know.
With your help, we have secured more than 500 signatures for our change.org petition in the last two weeks. Over a 1/3 of you who signed also shared our post through social media! And many more have shared it out by word of mouth. Thank you all for lending your voice to our collective cause.
This Wednesday night we will be taking this signed petition, your wonderful comments, and the confidence this public show of support has lent our cause, and we will once again go before the Gloucester County Library Commission to show them we are not going away quietly any time soon. We are not asking for their respect but requiring it of them in negotiating a fair contract. We will be imploring them to right the wrong they did to us as public library workers when the raises we were promised were unduly taken from us.
Please consider joining us at the Mullica Hill Branch of the Gloucester County Library System tomorrow night (Wed 7/26) at 5 pm for the public session of the library commission's meeting. We will be presenting the commission with this change.org petition, as well as an internal petition showing over 90% solidarity between GCLS employees in our fight for fairness.
Importantly, we are also calling for members of the public to speak out and let the commission know how you feel.
You, our public, should have a say as well in what happens in your public libraries and tomorrow is that chance to voice your concerns.
Truly,
~The Library Workers of GCLS
The GCLS Commission meeting is being held at 389 Wolfert St. Rd. Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 tomorrow night (7/27) at 5 pm in Meeting Room B. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear red to show solidarity!
