Support free parking in public parking lots to utilize public transportation

The Issue

Imagine, as a hardworking working class citizen, you park your vehicle in a public parking lot to commute using public transportation, only to return to find your vehicle towed.

After fearing that it was stolen and loosing significant time (away from family) lost in distress, a hidden sign has the phone number to just inform you that the car was impounded by Rancho Cucamonga PD soon after it was parked in the am. The car was NOT cited for the missing parking voucher in display but impounded due to a Predatory and UNCLEAR permitting system implemented by the city manager and his team. The signs indicating this change were covered by the trees, were ambiguous at best, adding to the unfairness of the situation.

Infraction: Failed to display $5.50 voucher

Rancho Cucamonga PD release fee: $190

Towing company release fee: $500

Emotional distress unable to find the car with the car seats : Priceless

Can the victims contest the fees? No: the web site link or the phone number below does NOT even work with out a citation number!! Another city management malfeance!

This is the story that belongs to many of us, including myself. Yet, at the same time, we witness an affluent Mayor's family financially benefiting from their positions, and getting away with activities(that are morally and legally questionable) due to their influence.

City Manager John Gillison, rather than working to address these injustices, appears more invested in maintaining an exorbitant salary. It is noteworthy to mention that Mr. Gillison's gross salary surpasses even the President of the United States, an imbalance that becomes even more questionable in light of his failure to follow his duties.

A city council member is in collusion with the City Manager and confirmed in writing that that she takes Metrolink to LA because she works full time in LA on top of earning nearly 100K for serving a few hours on the city council.  We have yet to receive confirmation whether she is getting free pass for both (Metrolink pass and parking fee) or not.

While I share these experiences, I'm certain many others face similar issues which go unvoiced. Therefore, I encourage supporters to share their stories and join in this call for justice. The fabric of our society, rests on the foundation of fairness and justice, and when those responsible for upholding these values falter, it falls upon us, the citizens, to demand rectification. It's time for City Manager John Gillison to be recalled and removed, held accountable, and rectify the injustice that has been done.

If you believe in a fair and just society, please add your stories to this petition and sign below to lend your voice to this cause. Let's recall City Manager John Gillison's choices for a better and more balanced community!
