I'm so happy to be sending you this email right now! Last night the district published an updated proposal to it's website for all to see (link at the end). Here is the quick take away... everyone wins. Seriously, they put some magic in this plan and it far exceeds what we have proposed! - All of the major themes of our alternate proposal were addressed - Fern Bluff stays at CTMS and Old Town stays at Walsh! - This plan went even further than ours by making changes to vertically align Wells Branch and Joe Lee Johnson to Deer park - ED numbers across *all* schools are better - Most importantly, the new presentation goes out of its way in several slides to show just how important our feedback was in their thinking! Today is a win for our schools, our kids, our voices, and our wonderful administration. Last point.. this isn't over yet. This is still just a proposal and could be tweaked before Oct 20th and again before Nov 17th. The board of trustees needs to do their part. I won't declare victory until the 17th so please stay tuned in. I can't imagine major changes to this plan or what logic there would be for changing it.
