Byron Shire Council has for the first time just passed a motion to support a Rail Trail in Byron Shire!

There is still a long way to go before we get a Rail Trail built, but council staff will now be moving ahead with planning and getting approval for a Rail Trail from Byron, through Bangalow to Booyong and from Mullumbimby to meet the Tweed Rail Trail at Crabbes Creek.

Thank you to everyone who has sent their support and signed the petition. We will need to keep the pressure on council to maintain this support. The final motion is in the picture.

The Bangalow shared path design process will be able to continue.

It is an amazing outcome that Byron Shire will no longer be standing in the way of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
