Imagine waiting months for your favorite artist to announce a tour. The day tickets go on sale, you set alarms, skip meetings, and sit in the online queue for hours. You finally get through and every ticket is gone.

Minutes later, those same tickets are plastered all over resale sites, now selling for five to ten times the original price.

This is happening to fans across the country every single day. Automated bots and professional scalpers scoop up tickets in bulk, leaving real fans with no choice but to pay outrageous markups, if they can afford them at all.

Ticketing companies like Ticketmaster claim to fight bots, but the current system is broken and they still profit from every resale through their own platforms. Fans lose twice: once when they can’t buy at face value, and again when they’re forced to pay inflated resale prices.

We’re calling on lawmakers to step in and protect consumers by:

Requiring face-value-only resale options for tickets on primary platforms.

Capping resale prices to prevent 200%–1,000% markups that shut out ordinary fans.

Strengthening enforcement of the BOTS Act to stop automated bulk buying.

Live music and sports should bring people together, not create a system where only the wealthiest or quickest can participate. We deserve a fair shot at buying tickets at a fair price.
