Fort Mill is growing, and with that growth comes the need for infrastructure that supports a sustainable and modern community. The new downtown parking lot presents an excellent opportunity to install public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, yet this crucial addition is not currently planned.

When asked about the possibility of including EV charging stations, the response from our town’s leadership was that there’s no demand. However, many residents and visitors disagree. With the rise of electric vehicle ownership and the push for sustainable transportation, public EV chargers would benefit both locals and tourists, bringing Fort Mill in line with neighboring towns that are embracing the shift to cleaner energy solutions.
