Dear Supporters,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration with the advocates behind Ethan’s Law, a vital piece of legislation focused on protecting children and families from harm in domestic violence situations. As part of our ongoing efforts to pass Elijah’s Law, which seeks to ban court-mandated reunification therapy in cases involving domestic violence, we’ve joined forces with the team behind Ethan’s Law to amplify our shared mission.

Both Elijah’s Law and Ethan’s Law aim to address systemic issues in family law that too often fail to protect vulnerable children and survivors of domestic violence. By working together, we hope to create a stronger, united front in advocating for the safety and well-being of families across Georgia.

Our combined efforts will focus on ensuring that family courts prioritize the safety of children and survivors, remove harmful practices like forced reunification therapy, and implement stronger protections for victims of domestic violence. This collaboration will also help us push for meaningful changes in Georgia’s family law, aligning it with federal safety standards and ensuring that survivors’ voices are heard.

As part of this effort, we are continuing to gather support through our petition, with a goal of reaching 30,000 signatures. This is a significant milestone to demonstrate the widespread demand for reform and to send a powerful message to lawmakers.

We invite you to continue supporting Elijah’s Law and help us in this critical fight for justice. Together with the advocates behind Ethan’s Law, we are one step closer to making a real difference in the lives of survivors and their children.

Please share this petition with your friends, family, and networks. Every signature brings us closer to creating the change we need.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,
The Wind Haven Foundation Team

Our Goal

Our goal is to gather 30,000 signatures in support of "Elijah's Law," a number chosen to reflect the urgency and widespread public backing for this critical reform. While Georgia does not require direct citizen-initiated ballot measures, demonstrating substantial public support can significantly influence legislators. For context, independent candidates seeking statewide office in Georgia must collect signatures equal to 1% of registered voters—approximately 28,590 signatures based on recent data. By surpassing this benchmark, we aim to underscore the importance of banning forced reunification therapy in domestic violence cases and to show lawmakers that their constituents demand action. Your signature represents a collective voice for change, a stand for justice, and a commitment to protecting survivors and their children. Together, we can reach this goal and drive meaningful legislative reform.

What "Elijah's Law" Seeks to Accomplish

This proposed legislation would ban forced reunification therapy in cases where domestic violence is present. It calls to align Georgia’s family law with federal standards prioritizing survivors' and their children's safety and well-being. This law also reflects God’s justice by ensuring that courts take a survivor-focused approach, prioritizing healing over harm.
