Adan Nuñez Gonzalez, a dedicated member of our Northfield, Minnesota community, was unjustly and violently apprehended by individuals purporting to be ICE officers on November 11, 2025. Adan has been living in Northfield for over ten years, contributing positively to the community as a small business owner and, most importantly, as a loving husband and father of four.

Adan’s sudden disappearance has left a void not only in his family but in the entire community that values his presence and the role he plays in fostering the local community and economy. His children face the trauma of an incomplete family, robbed overnight of their father’s guidance and love, and his eldest son witnessed the violent apprehension of his father as captured on video. His wife is enduring the uncertainty and anxiety of fighting a system that operates behind veils of secrecy and illegitimacy.

The incident that transpired is not just about Adan but about the principle of justice and the need for transparent operations by federal law enforcement. The actions taken against Adan were without warning to local police and absent a transparent legal process: no warrant and no identification by the alleged ICE "officers." Individuals who witnessed the event noted the aggressive nature of the operation, raising significant concerns about its legality.

We demand clarity and accountability from the federal authorities. We urge our local and state government officials as well as local and state-level law enforcement to investigate this situation thoroughly, ascertain the identities of those involved, and ensure Adan's safe return after a fair and swift legal process.

We, community members of Northfield, stand together in order to prevent any other of our beloved community members from facing similar unjust treatment. Our diverse and tight-knit community is built on trust, respect, and solidarity, and we will not stand by as these principles are endangered.
