A poem for Dan
It’s father’s day but dad’s not here
We miss him very much
They took him while we were at school
Now it’s hard to stay in touch
Today we’ll drive a long, long way
To visit him in Lithgow
Where they’ve locked him a concrete box
It’s like Australia’s li’l #Gitmo
But its worth the drive, the dogs, and guards
To see him for an hour
He'll tell us that he loves us all
And he’ll always be our father
For a moment we forget the truth,
That our country has betrayed us
They locked him up without a trial,
On the say so of the US!
A foreign power can’t call the shots,
Or take our freedom from us?
Enough’s enough, please stop this now
Time to free dad, Mr Dreyfus
