Uvalde Nonprofit Formed After 2022 Texas Massacre To Plant Memorial Tree In Mark Twain National Forest In Memory Of Conrad Ashcraft, Who Died At A Missouri Daycare
As the case against a Missouri daycare worker continues forward in the death of Conrad Ashcraft and as legislation is to be presented this fall, drafted and aptly named after the child - The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, nonprofit formed after the May 2022 mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas; announced Thursday morning that a memorial tree is set to be planted in honor and memory of the child lost to the tragedy.
Foundation officials noted that they have secured a planting of the memorial, along with Missouri State Forestry officials stating, "This tree is a small dedication, which will literally grow through history, to who Conrad was and furthermore, who he was supposed to be. Conrad did not have to die! More will, unless change is made now, through Conrad's Law.."
(DANIEL CHAPIN, Uvalde Foundation For Kids)
The foundation is planning a formal, future public visitation to the site of the memorial following contact with CONRADS family.
