Over 17 years ago, we lost our beloved Pastor, Barbara Brewton Cameron.  Unfortunately, when she passed, the church did not continue to function as a church on a consistent basis.  This adversely effected the congregation and the sheep scattered.  The positive effect the ministry had on the community became nonexistent.  Drugs, and violence slowly crept back in and the once thriving, spirit filled, safe place, sat empty, not providing helps and hope through the love of Jesus Christ. No more prayer, no more Sunday School, no more Friday night live service, no more bible study, and no more Sunday service.  The building that opened it's doors to the homeless and fed them twice a week, provided them with clothes, shelter, transportation and groceries, was snatched away and doors were closed.

Community Outreach Christian Ministries has been a cornerstone of our community, providing church services, prayer meetings, feeding the homeless, hosting weddings and funerals, offering midnight basketball, and making the building available for community programs.

By law, the church belongs to its members, not any single individual. We are calling on all former members, friends, and ministry partners to stand together and ensure the ministry can continue its vital work under the control of the community it serves.
