Children deserve protection not only from those who directly abuse them but also from the adults who knowingly enable or conceal that abuse.

Right now, extended family members and other adults involved with a child often face no legal consequences when they minimize, deny, or fail to report abuse, even when their silence leads to further harm.

Chase’s Law is a proposed bill designed to close this dangerous gap in the child protection system by:

Creating a legal duty for closely involved adults to report suspected abuse.
Making it a punishable offense to knowingly enable, minimize, or hide abuse.
Providing tiered penalties depending on the severity of harm, including fines, education programs, and criminal charges.
Allowing civil remedies to protect victims and families fighting for safety.
Including clear safeguards to prevent misuse and protect those acting in good faith.
This law is not about punishing honest mistakes or misunderstandings. It is about holding accountable those adults who know abuse is happening and choose silence or denial  allowing children to remain in danger.
