Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC), Christ Hospital in Jersey City, and Bayonne Medical Center are critical healthcare providers for Hudson County, which is the most densely populated area in New Jersey. These hospitals, together, serve thousands of residents, ensuring that our communities have access to vital medical care close to home. They offer essential services such as emergency care, women’s health, and inpatient child behavioral health, among others, which are vital to the health and well-being of the region.

However, these hospitals are currently struggling financially due to the actions of their prior owner, who burdened the system with costly financial obligations. As a result, the hospitals need significant financial support to remain viable. With new leadership at the helm, there is hope for stabilization, but we need our elected representatives to be involved and ensure these hospitals and their services continue to be available to our communities.

This petition calls on state, county, and local leaders to prioritize the financial stabilization of HUMC, Christ, and Bayonne Hospitals, ensuring that they remain strong healthcare resources for our communities.
