I am a proud Canadian citizen, deeply concerned about the possibility of a 25% tariff being imposed on Canadian goods. It’s time we stand firm against the threat of such unfair practices and resist the politics of intimidation.

This is not about dividing Canadians and Americans. In fact, our nations share a long history of friendship and cooperation. However, these proposed tariffs place unnecessary strain on our economic relationship.

According to Statistics Canada, in 2023, Canada exported approximately $592.7 billion CAD worth of goods to the United States, accounting for about 77% of our total exports. The impact of a 25% tariff on these goods could be devastating, leading to economic instability, job losses, and significant challenges for businesses across the country.
