Africa is rich in voices, imaginations, struggles, and memories. Yet in the global digital space, it remains underrepresented, fragmented, and often invisible.

With 1.7 billion people of African descent, including well over 260 million in the diaspora, there is still no digital space that embodies our diversity, identities, dreams, and innovations. 

The Bouma Roots initiative was born out of a passion to connect and empower Africans on the continent and in the diaspora through the digital world. 

Today, a historic window of opportunity is opening.

Bouma Roots embodies the vision of a Pan-African Digital Home: a shared digital space that will be built on four future community web extensions rooted in our identities through four thematic portals: business, culture, justice, and knowledge. 

Each portal will provide access to unprecedented opportunities, allowing everyone to participate fully in the global digital economy.

Imagine a structured digital space where every African, regardless of language, origin, or location, from Kingston to Casablanca, Nairobi to Rio, or Oslo to Beijing, is connected to an ecosystem that resembles them through digital bridges that bring people together, like a baobab tree and its roots. 

Signing this petition means:

✔ Supporting the creation of a pan-African digital commons.
✔ Giving the continent a voice in global web governance.
✔ Help build infrastructure that is useful to businesses, artists, researchers, civil society, and many others.

Érigeons ensemble la Maison Numérique Panafricaine 

L’Afrique est riche de ses voix, de ses imaginaires, de ses luttes et de sa mémoire. Pourtant, dans l’espace numérique mondial, elle reste sous-représentée, fragmentée, et souvent invisible.

Face à 1,7 milliard d'Afrodescendants, dont plus de 260 millions dans la diaspora, aucun espace digital n’incarne encore notre diversité, nos identités, nos rêves et nos innovations.

L'initiative Bouma Roots est née d'une passion pour connecter et autonomiser les Africains continentaux et diasporiques à travers le monde digital. 

Aujourd’hui, une fenêtre historique s’ouvre.

Bouma Roots porte la vision d’une Maison Numérique Panafricaine : un lieu digital commun qui s'appuiera sur quatre futures extensions web communautaires ancrées dans nos identités à travers quatre portails thématiques : business, culture, justice, et savoir. 

Chaque portail sera un accès à des opportunités inédites, permettant à chacun de participer pleinement à l'économie numérique mondiale.

Imaginez un lieu digital structuré où tout Africain, peu importe sa langue, son origine, ou sa localisation, de Kingston à Casablanca, de Nairobi à Rio, d'Oslo à Pékin, est connecté à un écosystème qui lui ressemble, par des ponts numériques qui rassemblent, à l'image d'un baobab et de ses racines. 

Signer cette pétition, c'est :

✔ Soutenir la création d’un bien commun numérique panafricain.
✔ Donner une voix au continent dans la gouvernance mondiale du Web.
