The issue

Too many experienced Australian truck drivers are walking away from the job — and younger Aussies aren’t signing up. Why? Because the licensing process is too expensive, confusing, and unfair.

At the same time, large companies are fast-tracking foreign drivers into roles that Australians could easily fill — if only they were given the same support, access, and fair go.

We don’t have a “skills shortage.” We have a support shortage.

We call on the Federal Government, the TWU, and the NRFA to take urgent action:

 1. Make licensing fair and affordable for Australians

 2. Invest in local driver training and access programs

 3. Apply consistent safety and skill standards to all drivers

 4. Back Aussie drivers first before fast-tracking foreign recruitment

Without change, we’re going to lose a generation of safe, experienced Aussie truckies — and that’s a loss we can’t afford as a nation.

Please sign and share this petition to support the future of local drivers and the industry we all depend on.
