I’m Not Done Fighting —

Yesterday, I learned that Rep. Shri Thanedar had decided not to move forward with his proposed articles of impeachment He cited pressure from Democratic leadership as the reason for stepping back.

Honestly? That made my heart sink.

Not because I was counting on him — but because the pattern is so familiar: those who dare to stand up get pushed back into line. Business as usual. Optics over urgency. Caution over courage. Meanwhile, Trump remains in office, emboldened by silence and strengthened by fear. The longer we wait, the harder it becomes to push back.

But then I remembered Rep. Al Green of Texas has said he will file articles of impeachment this week. This week is almost over.

I wonder, after what happened with Thanedar, if Green will still follow through — or if the schedule will change again.

***EDIT -8pm 5/15/25 Rep. Green Files Impeachment Articles, Cites Trump as Threat to Democracy in ‘Dear Colleague’ Letter

What matters to me is that Rep. Green does follow through and file. It matters to me that someone in Congress is still willing to speak the truth plainly: that Trump is unfit, dangerous, and actively eroding what’s left of our democratic norms. That Project 2025 is not some hypothetical threat — it’s a roadmap for authoritarian rule. That impeachment is not a “distraction” or “political stunt” — it’s a moral and constitutional necessity.

And yes, I know impeachment probably won’t succeed in a Trump-controlled House. But this is about drawing a line. It’s about naming the danger, refusing to normalize it, and refusing to roll over.

It has been a tense few months. As a clinical mental health counselor, I work with people who’ve lived through trauma and instability. These past months have been emotionally brutal. Watching Trump take office again, watching the system accommodate him again — it’s enough to make you feel like you’re losing your mind.

But I’m not losing it. I’m seeing things clearly. And I’m still resisting.

Last month, I started a petition calling for Congress to support Representatives Green and Thanedar and their Articles of Impeachment by voting to impeach, convict, and remove. My petition is still live. It still matters. And it still needs signatures. Thanks to everyone who has signed, shared, and contributed. If you have anyone else you would like to share it with, please do so-I really appreciate it.

I’ve made signs. I’ve made shirts. I’ve posted, written, hollered, and even cried. I’ve been dismissed as “too emotional." But I’ve also been told I helped people feel less alone — and that’s reason enough to keep going.

This is not a moment for quiet compliance. This is a moment for noise — even if it’s tired noise. Even if it's messy. Even if it's coming from people like me — people who are working, grieving, surviving, and still holding the line however we can. I hope you’ll stay loud. I hope you won’t let any of this slip into the background.

We’re not powerless. We’re just told we are.

Thanks for staying in the fight!
