Support and Permission for Dr K to write KFP again and complete his FRACGP Fellowship

Support and Permission for Dr K to write KFP again and complete his FRACGP Fellowship

The issue

The Petition: We request RACGP President, Dr Nicole Higgins and Minister of Health Hon Mark Butler to intervene and grant special permission (under exceptional circumstances) to Dr K..... to write his KFP exam and finish his RACGP Fellowship. Also for a more personalised support and help from RACGP to exam candidates.

It would be a great loss to community and our health system if we lose Dr K..... and his wife (Who is a Specialist Physician). Imagine the waste of talent and all that training and investment of time, effort, money and expertise that went in to their training (over 16 years).

In Dr K.....'s case relevant College (RACGP) owes it to its members and candidates and carries the responsibility of supporting them in a more meaningful way then asking to see the Public report and do it better next time!

The annual membership fees, exam fee/expenses, books, Leave with loss of income, psychological stress (& trauma of going the same process multiple times), social isolation and time away from your family, are all harsh realities and carry a very high price tag that we all pay.

We ask the General Public and especially GP and medical community to sign this petition and bring a change in this status quo. We ask RACGP President Dr Nicole Higgins and Minister of Health, Hon Mark Butler to intervene and grant Dr K..... to write his final FRACGP component of KFP (He has already passed AKT and Clinical, both in first attempt).

Also to have a more personalised and result yielding support and responsibility towards its members and in particular FRACGP candidates… to guide and support them for exam success. It applies more to IMG candidates and in particular to those GPs who have been accepted by the College (RACGP) to be in experience based exam stream. The College trainees receive much better support and their wont be an example of a case like Dr K….. and the kind of treatment/support he received from RACGP!

Hope our appeal brings a positive change for Dr K..... and other IMGs/FRACGP candidates.

Thank you to all Fellow GPs/Medical Practitioner for signing this petition. Let’s stay together in supporting each other for a better medical community and for a Just society.
