Minashe Obinna, a dedicated Hazzanut student of Rabbi Catriel Garland, has been tirelessly learning, educating and fostering the spiritual growth of the Nigerian community known as B'nei Tzedek. Minashe & the B'nei Tzedek community play a significant role in highlighting Rabbi Garlands Kiruv (outreach) projects.

This community which is linked deeply to the legacy of the Afro-Sephardic Jews, faces significant challenges in accessing what are now essential Jewish ritual items. Without Torah scrolls, tefillin, tallitot, and siddurim, their ability to fully engage in their spiritual and cultural practices is constrained.

Afro-Sephardic Jews, with their unique heritage and circumstances, often remain unseen and unsupported in the broader discourse of Jewish communities. Many live in regions where acquiring these sacred items is not only financially burdensome but also logistically complex. The absence of these items not only impacts their religious observance but also affects their cultural identity and continuity.

We have the opportunity to make a real difference. By raising funds to provide these essential items, we can empower the B'nei Tzedek community and affirm their place in the rich tapestry of Jewish history. Such an initiative is not merely about providing material objects but about restoring dignity, enhancing spiritual connection, and supporting cultural preservation.
