The Issue

Aaron Spencer, a brave father from Lonoke Arkansas and revered military veteran, acted out of instinct and desperation when his 14-year-old daughter was ruthlessly abducted. Acting solely under the impetus of parental love and military training, Aaron pursued his daughter’s abductor, only to be violently attacked.

Reacting in unadulterated self-defense, Aaron used his firearm on the assailant, resulting in the latter's unfortunate death. Now, despite his heroic act of rescuing his own daughter from an imminent threat, Aaron could potentially be charged with murder. This situation is not only denigratory to his person but also significantly discouraging to every citizen looking to take immediate action in the defense of their loved ones.

According to JustifiableHomicide.com, in 2019, 500+ homicides in the U.S were "justifiable," meaning the killer acted in self-defense. Self-defense is a right shared by all, and when acting under duress, people should not be subjected to criminal charges. Aaron's defense clearly falls under this category.

The intention is not to glorify violence, but to acknowledge the difference between unnecessary violence and an act done in the urgency of self-defense and protection. Aaron Spencer is a hero, he saved his daughter, and he should not be facing any charges. This case resonates with many people because they see him as a defender of the innocent, and he deserves to be honored instead of penalized.

We urge the legal authorities involved in Aaron's case to drop these unwarranted charges against him. He acted in self-defense and in the best interest of his child; therefore, he should not be prosecuted for being a caring father and a rightfully concerned citizen.
