Support a sequel for Over the Hedge

Support a sequel for Over the Hedge
The Issue
Beloved by audiences for its sharp humor, creativity, and heartwarming storyline, "Over the Hedge" (2006) left an indelible mark on its fans. The movie introduced us to a delightful forest crew who navigated a suburban landscape with charm and wit. Characters like RJ, Verne, Hammy, and Stella became instant icons, teaching us about family (the one you choose), trust, and coexistence.
However, nearly two decades have passed, and despite the film's cult status and financial success, we have yet to see a sequel. We believe now is the perfect time to bring the "Hedgie" family back, and here is why:
1. Timeless Relevance: The movie's satire on consumerism, suburban sprawl, and the collision between nature and human expansion is even more relevant today than it was in 2006.
2. Rich Source Material: Based on the comic strip by Michael Fry and T. Lewis, there are decades of stories and adventures that have yet to be adapted for the big screen.
3. A Waiting Audience: The children who grew up watching this masterpiece are now adults who want to share these characters with a new generation. The fanbase is still active and hungry for more.
We respectfully ask DreamWorks Animation to reconsider the potential of this franchise. Whether it's a theatrical release or a streaming exclusive, the world is ready to look "Over the Hedge" once again.
Please sign this petition to show your support for RJ, Verne, and the whole forest family!
