Mr. Ward
I am very disappointed. You intentionally tried to avoid a very important discussion which will have an impact on the healing of my family, visibly affected by the UBF shepherding practices and heritage in negative ways. I feel that you, representing the UBF, do not have the best interest of my son and/or our family in mind, but only the interest to protect UBF legally.
You stopped short of elaborating what the UBF ministry entails. You also stopped short of elaborating on my son’s perspective. I want to reiterate that my son agreed to rebuilding our lost relationship through the help of a lawyer and professional counseling. I am not sure if you are telling me that the UBF supports/encourages a young man like my son to not take responsibility or accountability for his words, since you come in between us again as another UBF leader. I am also not sure why you and the other UBF leaders think you have that special authority to come between my son and I and where you derive that authority from.
The mysterious disappearance of my adult son from my life together with the UBF Korean families we have known and trusted for 7 years when my son was a minor remains unresolved. The subsequent dramatized mystery where I became an abusive mother causing mental health conditions to my own son also remains unresolved, even though I have involved the police and professionals in my attempts to find healing and closure.
This question has haunted me for the past 10 years and has yet to find closure:
Why did the Korean UBF Bible teachers, trusted by a mother and her minor son, not get help for the minor in a suspected abuse if there was one?
