Support A Food Truck Park In Lordship

The Issue

Hi Friends, I hope all is well. My name is Doug and I'm from the team at Little Pub Stratford and The Surfside Hotel in the Lordship section of Stratford, Connecticut. I'm also a part time resident in Lordship and a full time tax payer in the town of Stratford.

Imagine being able to order a lobster roll or ice cream from a local food truck, sit on a picnic table, and enjoy the views of Long Island Sound on a sunny summer afternoon.

This activity occurs up and down the Connecticut coastline every day, but current Stratford zoning regulations don't allow for the use of food trucks in what's known as the "waterfront zone". So, we've worked with the town zoning officials to develop a coastally resilient plan that balances the Stratford zoning requirements with the unique characteristics of our open air space at the base of the Lordship Seawall to allow this sort of use.

We think that open air community space in Lordship is a benefit to the entire town of Stratford. Of course, others may disagree with our view, so the Stratford zoning commission will host a public hearing Wednesday June 21st at Stratford town hall at 6 PM to hear both sides.

We've been asked to get signatures from Stratford residents or taxpayers to show public support for our plan. The legal description is below and if you'd like to know more about our plans and ideas we've summarized them up on www.seawall4all.com We invite you to take a look, and if you agree and live or pay taxes in Stratford, sign the petition supporting our application.

And if you have time, please come to Town Hall  Wednesday June 28th at 6 PM. Nothing shows support like public support.

As mentioned above, more information is up on www.seawall4all.com . Let me know what questions you have, and I’ll be happy to try to answer. Reach out to me at info@seawall4all.com

Thanks, Doug
