Just moments ago, at Co-op’s AGM, members and customers voted against the use of cruelly-bred Frankenchickens.
This was a vote for better lives for animals and a more sustainable future.
But Co-op bosses have chosen cruelty.
Despite the powerful majority who just voted in favour of a kinder world, Co-op bosses said that they will not stop using Frankenchickens.
Millions of sensitive, intelligent animals will suffer as a result of this shocking decision.
So we took action.
Naturalist and TV presenter, Chris Packham, attempted to enter the event to speak on behalf of chickens, but was escorted from the event by security.
Other protestors successfully entered the building and, as Co-op bosses prepared to make their excuses for condemning animals to suffer, interrupted proceedings and began chanting. Eventually, the group was escorted out by security.
Will you help us spread the word?
This is a huge moment in our campaign to win better lives for the chickens raised by Co-op.
Already, our protest is being covered by major news outlets including The Independent. Now we need your help to put maximum pressure on Co-op bosses. Will you amplify the news by boosting it on your socials now?
It’s been a big day, and none of this would have happened without the support of animal lovers like you. Literally thousands of people have contributed to today’s vote against Frankenchickens. Thank you.
I will be back in touch on Monday with another update and a behind-the-scenes insight into today’s exciting disruption. Keep an eye out 👀
For the animals,
