Petition updateSupermarkets: Stop Selling Suffering!Morrisons bosses think they can hide this

Dear fellow animal lover,

The photo above speaks volumes. She’s a fast-growing Frankenchicken, one among the millions bred each year for UK supermarkets including Morrisons. Though still just a baby, her overgrown body is already too heavy for her legs to bear.

Expose Morrisons with a tweet now

This photo was taken in 2021, in an investigation by Open Cages into several farms owned by Morrisons supplier Cranswick. Birds were discovered covered in filth and suffering from open wounds. Many were already dead.

Yet here we are in 2023, and Morrisons are still refusing to end the cruelty.

With you by our side, we’ve been campaigning for Morrisons to end their cruel use of Frankenchickens and commit to the Better Chicken Commitment

The thing is, change doesn’t always happen overnight. Morrisons bosses think they can dodge this one. But they’re forgetting something very important: we won’t stop fighting. Not until they end this cruelty.

Here’s what you can do right now to send a powerful message to Morrisons bosses:

  1. We’re starting a Tweetstorm using #MorrisonsMisery. If you have Twitter, click here to use our quick-and-easy tool to send a tweet now.
  2. Don’t have Twitter? Click here to open the animal welfare complaints form on the Morrisons website.

Then write your message to Morrisons in the text box:
    - Tell them how you feel about their cruel use of Frankenchickens.
    - You could let them know that you’ve seen (or read about) the investigation footage of one of their supplier’s chicken farms.
    - You could question why they’re using fast-growing Frankenchickens despite the serious health issues they suffer from.
    - You could ask why they haven’t committed to the Better Chicken Commitment yet, when this would address some of the most serious issues with their chicken welfare.
    - Don’t worry about writing a long complaint. Even just a few lines will make an impact!

Thank you so much for taking action for chickens.
