Dear fellow animal lover,
Are you a Co-op member?
A group of staff at The Humane League UK want to table a motion at Co-op’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM). If successful, the motion could end Co-op’s cruel use of Frankenchickens and improve the lives of millions of chickens.
But we can’t do it without your help.
To put the motion forward, we need 100 qualified Co-op members to sign it. If you have a Co-op card and have spent over £250 at the Co-op in the last year, then you’re likely to be a qualified member.
And if you're a qualified member, then you’re part of a small group of people who have the power to help win a huge victory for chickens.
Think you’re a qualified Co-op member and can help? Please fill out this questionnaire now [action now closed]. It won’t take more than 4 minutes and by completing it you could help to get Co-op to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment. This includes a requirement to give chickens more space and enrichment and to end the use of fast-growing Frankenchickens for good.
If you don’t think you’re a qualified Co-op member, but you’d like to stay in the loop with our work to end the abuse of animals raised for food, you can sign up to receive emails from us at this link.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to change the world for millions of chickens. Thank you for being part of it.
Yours sincerely,
The Humane League UK on behalf of Chris Packham
