Reopen Gloucester Township Schools

The Issue

Indoor dining, gyms, salons, and non-essential business are open. How is it that these activities can resume but not our education system? Our children have already lost so much because of the pandemic.  As parents, how can we allow the education system to fail our children while non-essential businesses are operating?

Remote learning is not an adequate substitute for in-person instruction. We are watching our children fall academically behind while teachers are being told not to fail students.  If our children don’t have the essentials down this year, how can we expect them to succeed next year?

Since September, the NJ COVID dashboard has only reported 121 schools related COVID cases in the state of NJ.  Out of those 121 cases, 13 of those cases were in Camden County. As the evidence shows, returning to school plays a little to no role in the spread of the virus. Keeping schools closed while business is resuming is unacceptable.

We need to call on the Superintendent or our local Congressman to prioritize the education of our children by reopening our schools.
