(i was not wearing the coat and the sweatshirt was unzipped)

up above is one i’ve the outfits i was wearing when Mr Leland(the vice principal) dress coded me. He talked in a loud voice and told me it was inappropriate and i needed to zip my sweatshirt. this was right before lunch when i was trying to go into lunch. He pulled me aside and asked me if we had talked about this before. I said yes. we debated for a few minutes. I was feeling kind of uncomfortable. He told me he would call my parents if i did not corporate. I did not want to worry my mom who was at work (although she was fine with it) so i reluctantly zipped my sweatshirt and went into lunch on the verge of tears. all my friends were really worried. It took me half of lunch to calm down enough to tell my friends what happened. after lunch one of my teacher (i don’t want to say their name because i do not want to get them in trouble) pulled me aside and told me that Mr Leland had talked to them, and they had gotten in trouble for not dress coding me. we talked for a while and they made it very clear that they agreed with me that the dress code is sexist and the one for teachers and staff is also sexist. They told me that they didn’t think that breaking the dress code was the best way to get it changed and it would only get me in trouble. They said that they did not want to see me get in trouble. After school i told my mom about it and apparently he HAD called my mom about it. He told her that i was being disrespectful to him (i did not roll my eyes but i made a face when i talked to him earlier). He also believes that disagreeing with him was disrespectful.

well that’s all for this update please share my petition!
