Suella Braverman - You Are Wanted For Unlawful Protest Law Accountability

The Issue

Suella Braverman  - The High Court ruled Suella Braverman acted unlawfully by changing protest laws. Sign our petition to defend free speech, & hold Suella Braverman accountable, & protect your right to protest. No one is above the law—join our movement now!

We urge the UK Parliament to urgently investigate and take action against former Home Secretary Suella Braverman for unlawfully exercising executive powers to restrict peaceful protest. The High Court ruled in May 2024 that she acted outside the law, undermining democracy and violating human rights. We demand accountability, reform, and protection of our right to protest.

Demand Justice for the Unlawful Criminalisation of Protest

In May 2024, the High Court found that former Home Secretary Suella Braverman acted unlawfully by changing protest laws through a misuse of “Henry VIII” powers—executive mechanisms meant for minor regulations, not to override Parliament’s will. This change redefined “serious disruption” to mean merely “more than minor” inconvenience, making it drastically easier to criminalise peaceful protest.

Why This Matters

Parliament had rejected these same measures, yet Ms Braverman enacted them anyway through the back door.

She failed to consult civil society or human rights groups, breaching basic legal obligations for fairness and transparency.

These changes led to hundreds of unjust arrests, including those of peaceful demonstrators such as Greta Thunberg.

The courts confirmed this move was not only undemocratic but also unlawful, and a threat to Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights—freedom of expression and assembly.

We, the People, Demand:

A full parliamentary inquiry into Suella Braverman’s misuse of executive power.

Referral to the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner to assess possible misconduct or misleading of Parliament.

The repeal of any protest regulations passed unlawfully via the Henry VIII powers.

New legislative safeguards to ensure fundamental rights cannot be weakened without full parliamentary scrutiny and fair consultation.

This is about More Than Braverman

If unelected officials can rewrite criminal thresholds without democratic approval, none of our rights are safe. Peaceful protest is a cornerstone of a free society, whether for climate, equality, workers’ rights, or justice.

Add your name to protect civil liberties. Tell Parliament: Unlawful decisions must have consequences. No one is above the law.
