We would really appreciate your support once again in our current housing crisis

Thank you for your support of the Petition for this development last year. We are getting close now and would really appreciate your support once again. Click on the photo below to go to Shapeyourcity.ca and participate if you can. Exisiting proposal is for 115 half to 1 ac lots. This is very sad in our current housing crisis and I believe we MUST maximize density. The original proposal was the right thing to do. Appreciate your help and support once again. ...... Penticton, as you may have heard, there is a development proposed for the area between Spiller Road and Naramata Road (the Canadian Horizons development).
There are several public information sessions happening, as well as feedback forms on the Shape Your City site.
You can review the proposal materials and complete a feedback form before July 3. Choose between the form for Penticton residents and non-residents.
Here are the events:
- Online Info Session #1 on June 9 between 6:30 pm and 8 pm
- Drop by an in-person Open House #1 on June 18 between 10 am and 12 pm outside at Uplands Elementary
- Online Info Session #2 on June 23 between 6:30 pm and 8 pm
- Drop by an in-person Open House #2 on June 25 between 10 am and 12 pm at the Penticton Seniors Drop-in Centre
I was a big supporter of this development under its previous proposal. Under that proposal, the homes built would have been far more affordable than what is currently being proposed. I personally don't think Penticton is in need of 112 homes 1 million-2 million- what we needed was homes under 1 million.
I will not be supporting this development proposal.
