More black history to be taught at Napa High
The Issue
Hey Napa High students and parents!
With all the racial injustice we have seen lately on the media it is important we are informed on the history behind it. That being said, Napa High School students have voiced that they feel the need to add more black history to our history classes curriculum aside from just what the textbooks say. It is extremely important for us to educate our youth on such a big part of our country’s history. Napa High does teach parts of black history and it does not go unnoticed but our students are voicing not only a want but a need for more in depth lessons/ units on it. Please help voice this to our administration by signing! Although we understand change cannot be made over night, as students we want the future of our education to be filled with the full history of this country and the people who built it. Part of ending ignorance on our campus is making sure our students are well educated. It’s not only our future but the future of this town and country!

Hola Estudiantes y padres de Napa High!
Con toda la injusticia e ignorancia que hemos visto ultimamente es importante informarnos de la historia tras de estos eventos. Los estudiantes de Napa High han comunicado que sienten la necesidad de agreegar mas hisoria Afro-Americana a nuestras clases de historia aparte de solo lo que nos dicen los libros. Es extremadmente importante educar a nuestra juventud de esta gran parte de la historia de nuestro pais. Napa High ensena partes de la Historia Afro-Americana y lo reconocemos pero nuestros estudiantes estan comunicando no solo el deseo pero la necesidad de mas unidades y lecciones a fondo sobre ella. Por favor ayuden en comunicar esto a nuestra administracion al firmar! Aunque entendemos que cambio no puede suceded de la noche a la manana, como estudiantes queremos que el futuro de nuestra educacion este llena de la verdadera historia de este pais y de los que lo crearon. Parte de eliminar la ignorancia en nuestra escuela es segurarnos que los estudintes esten bien educados. No es solo nuestro futuro pero el futuro de nuestra ciudad y pais.
