With the outbreak of COVID-19 and classes moving to online format, many students will face challenging times ahead.  Without in-person access to teachers, TAs, tutors, peers, course materials, and other resources, many students will struggle to adapt and may see their grades suffer. Variations in learning styles will also present difficulties for online learning. Furthermore, students may be forced to combat time zone differences, illness, or the mental health concerns that come with isolation and fear of the growing pandemic.  Therefore, Fordham University should join institutions such as Georgetown University in allowing its students to have the option, if they choose, to take their courses pass/fail for the Spring 2020 semester.
