Since the cancelled meeting, we, as a group, have concluded that both EB and SB are incapable of bringing about a positive change within the TU Delft community with their current plan and in-action to hold perpetrators accountable. We based this conclusion on three key points:
- The history of how both EB and SB have dealt with social safety in the past,
- Our recent interactions with both the boards (EB & SB),
- A recent summary of the public poll with 48 unique responses.
Given the in-action on the part of both the EB and SB, we have sent a letter to the Inspectorate detailing our experience and frustration with this lack of action from the EB and SB. With both the EB and SB, we are still exploring the possibility of a meeting, but this will only be possible in the presence of an independent third party that can report publicly.
Clarification on Third-Party Presence
We intended to include Delta in the scheduled meeting (which was cancelled by the EB) to allow for an independent third party to report to the broader TU Delft community. We also want to clarify that Delta was one of the possible options, as our only requirement was public reporting of the meeting contents. Through the presence of such an entity, the goal was to foster transparency and, thus, safety for all parties involved in the meeting.
