Students Against CSULB CINE 305 Curriculum

The Issue

CSULB Class of 2026 is petitioning for change within the CINE Department! The new curriculum has major design flaws that deprive students of a fair and equal education.

The course load is unmanageable for Juniors. The workload for 305 Production classes has drastically increased and requires an unreasonable amount of time outside of class hours.

This is detrimental to CINE students because it allows no space for students working part-time, students with familial responsibilities, or students with ongoing health issues. The extensive required time commitment for Production classes perpetuates the unhealthy work-life balance that is prevalent in the film industry. This class inhibits any collaboration and networking beyond the 305 class section, isolating students and reducing their opportunities to work on senior or professional sets.

We need your signatures to enact change within the CINE Department. We must act now before these detrimental design flaws affect even more graduating classes.
