My name is Corey, and I am a second year medical student. I am outraged and heartbroken at the Trump administration's flagrant disregard of the scientific process, the health and safety of our citizens, and commonplace public health protocols designed to protect us.

Trump's second inauguration was at the beginning of my second year in medical school, and the dismantling of the US' already fragile healthcare system began almost immediately after. The steps taken over the last year to promote objectively false information jeopardize the integrity of public health, the sanctity of medicine, and the impartiality of science. It has to stop. As current medical students, we are the new generation and we have to step up. We never asked for this responsibility, but it is now ours to bear.
