My brother Mohammad Mirhadi was
murdered while watching a movie at the
theatre in 1997 in North Vancouver. Not
only did we loose a pillar of our family, a 20
year old man with a brand new 3 month old
baby and the hopes and dreams of a
beautiful life. Those dreams where
shattered by Michael Caster. A creature that
was supposed to be deported from Canada 4
years earlier. The neglect of the
Government had a huge contribution to my
brothers death. This Thursday he has a
parole hearing . After serving time in jail
this creature basically gets a hall pass for
murdering another human being. With the
leniency of our justice system ... I'm sure he
will be granted parole
People need to wake up. Look what is
happening all around us, Whistler,
Langley. Strickter punishment for violent
offences and gun crimes . Go after the
criminals not the people who are
responsible and have registered firearms. It's
time people understand plain and simple our
justice system is severely flawed . It is a system that favours the right of the criminal and their family. As a 13 year old girl, I missed 3 years of high school to attend court. I would go with my mother and father .
There were days when witnesses  would testify with graphic testimony. The coroner, first responders and many more had to share disturbing and graphic information. Our family was told we were not allowed to show any emotion in court or we would be asked to leave . Yet the families of the accused were allowed to do whatever they wanted , while my grieving mother sat and had to hear details on gunshots wounds that pierced the flesh of her one and only son. This system and treatment needs to stop immediately and begin to recognize who the real victims are . This is a broken system and need change. I urge you to sign the petition below.
