This issue is deeply personal to me, as I firmly believe that children are the future of our world. It breaks my heart to see so many young lives lost due to abuse. Stories like Gabriel Fernandez's should never be commonplace, yet every year, countless children suffer and die from abuse within their own homes.

Our current laws do not adequately protect these innocent lives or give them the voice they desperately need. We cannot stand by while more voices of victims are silenced forever. The time for change is now.

According to UNICEF, nearly 1 billion children aged 2–17 years have experienced physical, sexual, emotional violence or neglect in the past year alone (UNICEF). This staggering statistic highlights the urgent need for stronger child protection laws.

We must push for legislation that prioritizes child rights and provides adequate support systems for those at risk of abuse. By doing so, we can ensure that all children have a chance at a safe and healthy childhood - something every child deserves.

This petition calls on lawmakers to enact stronger child protection laws that truly serve in the best interest of our children - giving them a voice where it has been unjustly taken away.
