Take Down LOLCOW

Take Down LOLCOW
The issue
I am speaking up in means of trying to lessen the bullying problem that so many of us face daily through sites such as (LOLCOW).
The site lets a person anonymously screenshot someone’s private account and post it online for everyone to view; not only does this website violate a persons privacy it wreaks havoc on their mentality that’s fragile, to begin with.
Private Instagram communities, for most of us, are the only place people can feel safe enough to talk about their problems.
These recovery community’s save lives; a safe place where like-minded Individuals who are diagnosed with the same and or similar illnesses, who have nowhere else and no one else to turn to for support can connect, help and support one another.
These recovery communities give a person an alternative to suicide and show that there is another way forward that does not end with a person injuring themselves or taking their life.
I speak for myself when I say I wouldn’t have made it this far along in my healing journey without the life long best friends I’ve made along the way; the people in this community go above and beyond in their support and not one of these beautiful souls deserve to be on such a hateful website.
The Instagram of an individual is private for a reason and the people accepted on these accounts are trusted, however, forums such as LOLCOW rob a person of their privacy and expose them to online abuse.
Stand with me in taking the website LOLCOW down.
