Why this matters
Zomato has quietly built its app in a way that makes it almost impossible to cancel an order, even within the first minute of placing it. Customers are trapped into paying for food they don’t want, restaurants are not allowed to cancel on their end, and support is reduced to meaningless bot replies.

This is not a glitch. It is a deliberately designed malpractice:

Customers accidentally reordering or mis-clicking cannot cancel.
Chat support gives the same robotic reply: “Your order is being prepared, cancellation will lead to wastage.”
Restaurants confirm they are forbidden by Zomato from canceling on customer request.
Phone support is non-existent.
This means Zomato is profiting from forced orders while denying customers a basic consumer right.

My experience
I accidentally re-ordered food by mis-clicking the “Reorder” button. Within seconds, I tried to cancel — but the app had no option. The bot replied with copy-paste answers, and the restaurant said they were not allowed to help. I am not alone — countless others online share the same frustration.

This is not just inconvenience. It is unethical manipulation of customers.

Our Demands
We call on Zomato to:

Introduce a transparent cancellation window (at least 5 minutes after placing an order).
Allow restaurants to cancel on customer request.
Provide real human support, not just chatbots.
Publicly apologize to all affected customers.
Refund wrongly charged cancellations.

Why sign this petition?
Because if we don’t speak up, Zomato will continue exploiting customers through dark design practices. If a basic right like canceling an order is taken away, what next?

Food orders should bring joy, not stress and helplessness. Let’s demand Zomato fix this malpractice now.
